AI works hard to keep people safe online, but sometimes it collects too much personal information, like your Internet habits or private messages. The challenge is to keep us secure without invading our privacy.

For example: Imagine your school uses AI to monitor online activity to catch cyberbullies. It keeps students safe, but it might also record things like your chats with friends about your favorite video games or personal issues.

Your Task:
Imagine your school is debating whether to use AI to monitor student online activity. Your job is to come up with one rule or policy that would help strike a balance between keeping students safe and protecting their privacy.

Write your rule – What is one guideline schools should follow to ensure AI is helpful but not too invasive? How does your rule helps keep students safe without violating their privacy.

Defend your idea – If someone disagreed with your rule, what would you say to convince them it’s a good idea?
